Mighty MoleculesA new Hydrophilic Coating reacts to the elements for confident stopping power on snow and ice. Advanced Multicell Compound® with Nano Pro-Tech® works at a molecular level to remain pliable in cold.
Optimized ConstructionNew Cavity Shape distributes contact pressure uniformly across the entire footprint area for even wear and dry, ice and snow performance
Serious TreadBite particles act like microscopic studs providing confident road grip and braking on ice. 3D Zigzag Sipes create biting edges without sacrificing block stiffness. Increased block edges by 20% (compared to WS70) for better handling on snow and slush.

These winter tires made the difference between going or not going thru the snow. I went everywhere in a front wheel drive only CRV.

This is my 3rd set of BLIZZAKs (2X WS70, 1X WS80) They are much more stable in snow and ice than the OEM all season tires are. Cornering ability is greatly reduced. Stopping distance however is only marginally better. (That's just physics) I run them all year round and they last slightly longer than the OEM spec tire and are slightly cheaper. I rotate them frequently, (free at most reputable tire shops) keep the suspension aligned and replace the shocks every 90K miles. So I have no wear problems. Also lower tire pressure than the manufacturer calls out too. They are a little bit noisy. But so were the Michelins that came on the car. I'm buying a 2013 X3 and am planning on replacing the run-flats (and rims) with a set of these.

I wouldn't use any other tire in the snow. These things are like glue. Highly recommend.
